stiff steering when cold
hey guys im just trying to pinpoint the source of my problem,in the mornings for the past while when i first started the car the belt would squeel, no problem i replaced the belt, it actually a rip in it it looked more like someone tried to fillet it, any way the problem did entirely go away, after about ten seconds or less (sometimes longer depending on the cold) it stops, when i changed it everything seemed free but again the engine was warm when i did it the only thing that seemed suspect was the idler pulley,it looked bright like polished but it span freely. but the problem i was really hoping it would fix was the stiff steering, the colder it is the longer it takes to go away if its a warmer morning around -5 to 0 c it goes away in like ten minutes, yesterday morning it was about -20 c and it did not go away until about the third time i took the car out(long after the engine came up to temp, long after the squeel left) i topped up the fluid checked the belt tension but alas. the wheel will turn freely for about an eight turn the get stiff very stiff any advice on what else to check or what to try would be very cool
thanks
