Default Stiff steering when cold

Hi Everyone,
Been reading this and other forums for years and finally signed up, so this is my first post ever.

Looking for any thoughts on my 96 960 stiff steering when below about 50deg F. By stiff I mean turn the wheel and it stays there. After driving for 10-20 min (depending on how cold it is) the action loosens up and is normal. If its not too cold tilting the wheel up to its topmost position will help alleviate the problem.

Thanks in advance

Your steering rack is on its way out... Change the P/S fluid to buy some time. Unfortunately this is one part of maintenance many disregard.
