Default Sunroof jammed

So I already named this car "Carrie" since she has already started my fire. My Geo Metro is named "Christine" in case you care...............

Anyway, I picked up this trouble-maker of a car and on it's first trip home, I drove it slowly since I have to do some engine repairs (oil trap) and did not want to hurt it. It was a nice, sunny day and I figured I would open the sunroof! What a mistake that was.

It vented just fine, but when I rolled it all the way back, it would only come forward a few inches and then jam on the driver's side and return to full open. I never messed with a sunroof before and would like to know how to find this problem. I have a garage, so the car is out of the weather for now.

Anything common?

Not really many common problems.
See if you can work it back and forth to get it closed to get the glass off.
I wonder if someone had the motor out and it is out of time.

I have been trying to help it close, but it seems to "kick back" and go the other direction when it jams.

It is really hard to do anything with it unless it is closed.
When I got the Yellow 850 the sunroof was all messed up on it. I ended up replacing the entire tub assembly in it.

Well, I got it closed with brute force and help from the wife. Something was jamming the left side and with a lot of persuasion, it closed finally. It will remain closed also

Until the wife wants a little sun and breeze on a nice summer day!

That will never happen. We spent 20 minutes forcing the roof closed. For the last 3 inches, I had to use a short broom handle and a hammer while she pressed the button.

It was either going to close or break. I took the chance and won.
