t5 engine from an auto to a manual
I have the possibility of getting two 98 volvo t5's one has been in a accident at about 30 mph but the engine has 108kmiles the other is a manual with 180k and a "blown head gasket" so my question is would i be able to do a direct engine swap from the auto to the manual. any information would be greatly appreciated!
sounds like it would be ez with the t5 motor goin into the manuel it would be a much harder to put the manuel into the auto. would need to chage over the ecu possibly the wire harness and there is might a auto valve thing you will need to plug or bypass
Not a problem at all. Many have done it, including me. The easiest way would be to put the Auto engine in the Manual car. Should be a direct swap. Moving the manual trans to the Auto car takes moving more parts (shifter, pedals, clutch master and slave, etc.) If you do put the manual in the auto you will throw cels until you have your ECU flashed or move your manual ECU to the auto car (yes it will work).
In your case, if it were me I would be pulling the auto engine and putting it in the manual car.
