My wife just called to say a message appeared stating "Bulb failure-Position light". I haven't seen the car yet or called the dealer, but I did check the online manual ('05 V70). Could find no reference to "Position light". Does anyone know what this means? Thanks.

Yeah my dad just had this problem on his XC70.

Ok when you see the car next, have someone stand in back and see if any brake lights are out. Also check the lisence plate lights too. Also it could be that the bulb to the connector is just messed up and needs to be pushed in snug, like in my dads case.

The position lights are the Taillights. It will say Brake light if one is out.
The license plate lights are not on the system.
If a Headlight is out it will say DIPPED BEAM.

Thanks, guys. It was, indeed, one of the taillights. Wife was calling the dealer as I arrived home. They said to bring it in for free fix. Of course, I had to pull it for a look anyway. Interesting wiring setup.
