So I got my first used Volvo, 1999 V70. The owner told that I should replace the belt along with the Tensioner. I made a appointment with a "Volvo" Specialist, how much, or more so, what is the average price to pay for this type of replacement?

 

I did mine myself. I do own a air gun and have some tools and that helps. I mostly spent $150 for parts and a socket for the main pully.

 

Yeah, I dont have any damn tools but any means, just the basics. Enough to slide by on very basic repairs.... I noticed that the parts costed about 130-150$, so was the labor very extensive? Im guessing I will play about 280-300$

 

I think you're looking more towards the $400-500 range at a Volvo dealer. Check to see if you have a local import shop, they will probably be able to do it for much less.

 

Just did the 105k service on my 04 which a big part is the timing belt for 845.00. how many miles do you have on it?

 

its has just about 100K on mileage, I am bringing to a swedish specialist, not a dealership...
