Default Tires for 04 V70R

Hey - so I am buying new tires this weekend and have this dilemma. My #1 choice was always the Conti DWS - but they are on backorder wherever I go and there doesn't seem to be a timeline on when I can even get them.

That said, I've been reading reviews on the Michelin Pilot Sport and the Bridgestone Potenza's. Do any of you guys have experience with these tires? Would you recommend any other tires for Seattle weather? I'm looking for a good all-season tire - good in rain and light snow - and my driving won't be nearly as aggressive with a newborn on the way.

Any info would be much appreciated!

I use Michelin MXV4s. Great traction on wet and snow covered roads and they give a smooth ride!

Hello, A friend had those once and they were quiet, handled well in similar weather and lasted a long time. They should for their price. Another expensive tire to consider is the Bridgestone Turanza w/Serenity. Two cars in the family have them. They match the MXV4's performance, in my opinion. The Firestone Affinity was the "little brother" of the Turanza LSH (LSV, as well) (discontinued). Great value, if they're still made. With an R I guess you have to buy V rated tires. Kira

I wouldn't say MXV4's are hard wearing(I think 'Canadian tyres are softer), but they're all weather and you don't need snows!

I actually bought the Michelin Pilot Sport AS and they have been great so far. I'm really looking forward to getting the car in a slushy parking lot or something because I don't have a very good feel for how it performs in the rain/snow. As it is, it feels as though the car "glides" or loses traction even at low speeds and light turns. Coming from an Audi, I assume it just takes getting used to.
