Default Urgent please help!

Hi All,

What is it called the part/cover behind the driver door hinge? That part/cover attached to the front body of the car.
Without that cover I can see the left wheel area from the driver seat.

The cover was broken nearby the hinge and caused popping sound twice when the door was fully open. So I took the car to the body shop to have the broken cover to be welded. When I picked-up the car I didn’t notice the cover was missing because I wasn’t well. A week later I noticed the cover was missing, not only the driver side but the passenger side as well. It took a week for me to notice them because I was sick the whole week after picked-up the car. Now I need to ask the shop for the two pieces back and installed ASAP.

Thanks in advance.
Momo

There's a black plastic inner fender or fender liner that's installed in there. In this case I think "fender liner" is more correct in the USA.

If you're in a country that doesn't use the word "fender" then I guess adjust accordingly. These are still available new and quite cheap if they threw it away.

Thanks for the quick response.
The cover is a long metal piece sitting vertically behind and along the door hinge and it’s not a plastic piece.
The first picture.

The second picture.
The second picture.

Please see attached pictures.
In the first picture, the area looks like a strip of black hole behind the door hinges from above of the top bolt to the bottom of the bottom bolt is the long vertical metal piece that missing. It was cracked on the driver side and caused a popping noise when the door was opened. That was why I took the car the shop to have it welded.
On the passenger side was fine however both sides are missing. Maybe the technician forgot to put them back?
Would anyone please let me know what is the long vertical metal piece called, what is the part number and how much for original piece? My vehicle is 1998.

The second picture is the back area of the driver side front wheel when peeking thru the long strip hole.

Thank you so much,
Momo

Thanks,
Momo

I can't see anything in those pictures, but whatever is missing, I'm sure the junkyards are full of them. I should have looked at my own car, sorry!

I am very familiar with the breaking, popping, and welding, and so I totally just believed that I knew exactly what you meant. All of these cars will break where the door travel/detent thing is connected. They were not adequately designed there. And so they always pop twice when the door opens. I've welded a bunch of them. In my way of looking at the world, I knew exactly what you meant, but evidently you're talking about something else.

Hi firebirdparts and everyone,

I would like to apologize for my misunderstanding about the missing parts in my first post.
There are no missing parts and all good.

Much appreciated for firebirdparts assistance.🙏

Thanks,
Momo
