Putting the spring back in the load cover?
Hi - hope you can help - just picked up my 2002 V70 SE and found the load cover doesn't retract without a bit of manual help.
How can I get it to retract properly? One end of the cover comes off, I've tried to unroll it too the end, no joy, and tried to wind it all the way up, but can't keep it really tight
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Matt

For your info I got the answer from another V70 site - but thought to post the "fix" on here in case others need it.
To get the load cover to retract properly, you need to;
1. Remove oneend of the cover
2.Roll up the cover fully
3. Tension the spring by twisting in the same direction as the cover will be pulled out (the amount of tension needed is a bit of trial and error)
4. Once tensioned, "lock" the spring back into the white plastic holder, re-insert back into cover and hey presto it works again!
Thanks to bill for that one - saved me a few pennies in trying to buy a new one!

May have broken the plastic tubes off (Common problem) this kit will fix the problem: SKANDIX Shop Volvo parts: Repair kit, Load cover (1026691)
hope this helps others as no doubt either you have fixed or bought a new cover by now, due to the age of this post!!!
