I've got a 1998 V70 that is messaging ABS / TRACS OFF. It is intermittant, but is increasing in frequency. The warning lights go off as irregular as they appear. A few times at less than 3mph, the ABS hydraulic modulator seems to be activating (pulsing noises & pedal feel). It pulses about a second, then stops. There is no effect on braking at speed. I don't know how to diagnose a faulty CU, hydraulic modulator / relays or wheel sensor(s). I sure would appreciate advise on this one.

 

i had that same thing happen to me during the winter after some e-brake turns in the snow, and that problem continued for a while but then it eventually fixed itself? and went away. how long has this been happening and have u been driving it hard or anything? i also think that the whole "even at 3 mph" thing is because the ABS diagnoses itself after u hit 15 miles per hour or sumthing like that. im not 100% sure but i know at a low speed after being started it will activate or sumthing

 

Try cleaning the sensors first and if that doesn't fix it the ABS module is bad.
