Default v70 blowing white smoke

Before I went pulling things apart I wanted to find out what might be wrong so I know where to look.

My 99 v70 started having problems running and was blowing white smoke that smelled like rich gas (not coolant or oil) so I am not sure what is wrong at this point. I just had the thermostat go out and replaced it but 2-3 weeks after that this now happens.

The car turns over fine but when it tries to start it dies immediatly, if it does startup it dies right away. Help Please!!

There were and are no check engine lights. I was able to get the car started and it ran fine after I let it warm up for a little bit. It did start rough but once it cleared up it ran and drove fine. Not sure what was happening but want to know what you might think be the problem if any.

If the light was on but isn't now there still should be codes in the system.

I do not remember any check engine lights coming on but will need to get that checked to see if there are any in the system.
