I just purchased a 1998 v70 turbo with 152000 miles. When I test drove the car the engine made a noise when I started it but numerous people and the owners manual said it was the hydraulic lifters. The sound always went away within 5-7 sec. After I bought the car I changed the oil and put in the recomended oil 10w 30 synthetic. The oil light would come on and off mostly at red light. The service light would also come on a stay on for the first five minutes and then turn off. The owner said 15000 miles ago he changed the timing belt and oil pump and cam seals. Are the lifters shot? Is the engine shot? Help!!
