Hi there, recently picked up a trusty 04 v70 with the stock HU-650 radio in, everything is going swimmingly other than the abs light due to a sensor needing replacing… until this morning when the radio didn’t pick up the local stations.

When the car starts, it’s on the setting for the station, but no sound. When I click the to skip to the next it just endlessly scrolls though every possible frequency but never finds one. This happens on FM and AM. Any ideas what could be the issue?

I have had the radio out, checked the plugs are sitting snug in the back so that isn’t the issue

 

my guess is its either the wiring to the antenna or the antenna amp. Google around and you should find some prior posts on simlar topics like where the amp is located etc (hint - its above the antenna in the rear most drivers side window..)
