Hi All:

I found a spectacular third seat in a 9 series wagon at my local boneyard, and I am curious to know if anyone here has any idea whether it would bolt into a V70. I'd love to put it in, but I fear it won't be compatible.

What year is your V70?

I did find install pdf's online but cannot ascertain whether the seats are interchangeable / compatible.

Take a few basic measurements to see if it fits in the opening and meets the mounting features. Look at the design of the mounting features, too.

I know the 850 wagons have a bracket that mounts into the spare tire well. I also know there are seatbelts and trim pieces (roof corners) that you need. You may also need a different back seat because the 3rd seat has a toothed lever that picks up a feature on the back of the back seat.

Basically try to find the most obvious reason/dimension that makes it impossible and investigate.

 

Hey, thanks. I thought there might be a more straightforward answer to this, but I should probably grab the seat anyways, then take your advice and see if with measurements it looks like it will work.

That year v70 will be compatable with the 850, I do not believe it will work with the 9 series. When you do find a seat at a junkyard, make sure you grab the regular back seat too. Do not forget all the seatbelts for the third row.

 

can u please give me the link to this video.. i have a friend willing to sell me their 3rd row but my mechanic wants too much to remove it for them so we are will to try. everything looks pretty simple except the part where you cant see the ending of the seat belts.. if i could just see whats behind that housing then i'd feel more confident doing it. And then the vid would also help for installing in my car!

Ohh.. well actually i live all the way over the other side, in california! but i have before bought a seat from ebay and they had no problem shipping. But if its the hassle u dont want to deal with i understand. if not how much were u thinking of selling it for ?
