Hello. I have a 1998 V70 XC AWD 2.4 Litre turbo wagon/estate on which the handbrake/e-brake has gone from working poorly, following new cables and shoes being put in and having the brake adjusted, to not working at all. I know about the adjuster nut under the centre console, and presently have the console out of the car. However, can anyone give me an outline of what to do at the rear hubs to get the brake working? I've read some questions and comments on this in various places before, but have found some of the advice contradictory. I've been putting this job off to avoid having to work under the car without being able to put it on a lift.
