Hi, my 2001 V70gets quite bad vibrations at 45-65 miles, especially when accelerating peaking at about 55 miles. If it goes faster, these vibrations calm down.Even when completely lifted from the ground,and the wheels taken off, the vibration is still present. They triedpropping up the enginea bit assuming that the mounts are bad butto no avail. It looks like shafts are a bit bent and bearings are not in the top shape either (140,000 miles) but the vibrations are too strong to be caused just by these factors.What else do you think it can be? Based on what theory? My sister-in-law had the exact same issue with her 2002 V70 , after the dealer jerking her around and her wasting money rebalancing the tires and replacing a motor mount ,it was found to be a worn (dry) cv joint

 

Thanks a lot! What you said definitely makes sense, but the CV joints seem OK. They are firm, they don't make any noises and it looks like they are lubed. I wonder what else can cause such vibrations? Thanks again!
