Rumbling vibration on acceleration
I get a rumbling vibration upon acceleration, most obviouslysoon after starting to drive. The vibration reduceswith driving time but will be noticeable upon heavy acceleration regardless of how long the car has been running. I read somewhere on this board that the passenger side inboard CV joint going bad does that. It certainly sounds like it is coming from the passenger side. Also when I go over sharp bumps (even after the noise has stopped) I can hear a shortclunk on the sharpest bumps.
I replaced the outboardCV joint bootabout a year ago (before the vibration problemappeared). During reassembly that time,I did not put the adhesive / threadlocker on the splines. Could that cause the shaft tobe moving inand out on the splines and causing the vibration? I don't want to change the drive axle if it is just loose.
Thanks in advance
