Default What to pay? Used V70 XC

I am looking to buy my first Volvo.
I have a locally listed 1999, V70 XC that I am going to look at on Monday.
Any advice on what to look out for when buying a used V70?
Here is the listing:

"99 Volvo V70 XC Cross Country wagon. 2.4L turbo, auto, all wheel drive (never get stuck in the winter again), leather, power everything, third row seating, all options. 176k mi runs great, very powerful. KBB $4500-$5700, just had it inspected at dealer. A ball joint should be replaced, and a rear shock is leaking. Price more than adjusted to reflect repair costs. $2600 "

The price seems reasonable enough, just looking for some opinions/advice.
Thanks in advance,
Luke

Default Nice Car

That car is exactly the same as mine.. awsome car. And yeah thats a great price, but a lot of miles. Good thing its a volvo, they run forever. I dont know much about cars, but i bought mine 8months ago with 116xxx on the clock, straight away had to replace the 'heater core' (i think thats what its called) and the other day we put in a new radiator. But of all the volvos ive had, ive never come across any big issues just the usual maintenance. And all of my cars were over 120xxx. (just keep changing as people keep smashing into me) I know the 99 is the fisrt year they added the Electronic throttle, and so with anything on trial things are sure to go wrong. My light for that was on the other day and i ran it into the dealership as i found it there was a recall on it and they downloaded the new software for free!
Anyways if youve already had it looked over and they say your good to go... and with such a good price i'd do it. I paid $5200 for mine and its a salvage!

Oh one more thing, the miles per gallon.. crap. Avg. is 16, so consider whether you do need the Cross Country or not, I dont even go up in the mountains or the snow and if i could change back to the regular V70 i would.

p.s. if you dont need that third row seat give me a buzz!
