When i start my car, i can still switch to reverse, neutral, drive and so on, however, no matter which one i switch to, my car always goes forward, even in reverse, when i put on the gas, the car still goes forward. also, i cannot accelerate over about 40mph, because my car will not switch gears, when i get up to about 40mph, my rpms are at about 5.5k and my car makes no effort to shift. can someone plz tell me whats wrong with my car.

 

I couldn't tell you. It is surely one of those things that would concern me enough to visit a mechanic or dealer .

 

The shifter cable might have broke.

 

Crikey!! And i thought I had transmission problems. I hope its a simple fix!!
