Default Windshield Wiper out of whack

The driver side wiper arm on my V70XC AWD Wagon is out of whack. In the stop position it sits about four inches from the bottom of the windshield. Running, it goes just off the windshield. Took the nut off the arm but the arm is not budging and I'm afraid to force it. On my 960 it would just loosen the bolt and turn the arm to the postion I wanted. Not working here. What am I doing wrong. HELP

Haynes says you should undo the nut, tap the wiper arm slightly to loosen bond and then using a rocking motion to get it off the spline. The scary part is that they suggest using a puller if that does not work. I see something breaking

Yeah! I see something breaking also. This thing is really stuck. I sprayed WD40 on it and will let it sit for awhile to see if it loosens up. Thanks.

Put some pressure towards the windsheild by the hinge point and it should loosen it.
