Default XeMODex challenge

I'm taking the dive to try the XeMODex ETM replacement. After much reading through the forums, comparing my symptoms with those of others, consulting with my mechanic, it's time for a replacement. I'll be placing the order in the next few days and I'll post my results / experience to this forum.

2001 V70 2.4L T
195,000 miles
Here's how I got here...
- started with an ETM cleaning, symptoms remained.
- classic symptoms of erratic engine idle upon start up.
- erratic throttle response at lower rpms.
- additional symptoms of the engine jerking / stumbling at higher rpms.
- pulled many ETM fault codes
- my mechanic ran a ETM sweep tests with engine cold and hot, confirmed the troubles.

Hello, Thanks for that. So many don't post a working experience. I'm really looking forward to hearing about it. While the early versions of the ETM had the weak wiper strip, it's a sign of quality that they can be rebuilt. Good luck fixing your car. Kira

Placed the order online this morning with XeMODeX, $649 with $100 core return refund. I couldn't find their warranty statement online, emailed tehm on Friday and received a copy early this morning. It's nice to get a personalized quick response. I've got a trip to Turkey for the next 2 weeks, plan to install the ETM on the 12th and give an update then.

Changed out the ETM today, replaced the Volvo original with the ETM from XeMODeX. The ETM is truly a “plug-n-play” replacement. The job took three hours from start to finish and the engine started immediately and idled smoothly. The entire throttle response is much more lively, and responds in much the same way my S80 did years ago when I had the dealer update the ETM software. I will post a write up of the change out process and include some photos.
