Hi. weird issue. i have the R Design XC60 2010, the outside rubberized trunk switch/latch doesn’t work if the lid is closed. If I open it with the key fob or dash switch, lid opens fine and latch switch appears to work as long as it’s cracked open first via other buttons. Just not with the latch switch if completely closed. I’m thinking this is either a sensor in the latch itself or a bad limit switch somewhere on the latching mechanism. Any ideas?

 

Had the same problem on my 2011 XC60. The remote would work as well as the dash button, but not the switch underneath the license plate area. Bad switch.
