Recently I've noticed a knocking sound when I'm accelerating uphills mostly at low speeds. I took it to my dealer, after the computer analyzation and driving it, a software update was performed. The sound is still there; I can hear it coming from the right side in the cabin. Has anyone come across this condition; if so what is the solution? Btw, vehicle mileage is less than 50K.

What fuel are you using ULP91, 95 or 98? I have a Volvo XC60 late 2010 petrol model, and I didn't realise it really should be using ULP95 (or 98 but that's not required). When I accelerate slowly I heard a slight knocking/ticking/pinging noise. But since I changed over to ULP95 (as I know I should have - silly me), the pinging has disappeared. I also noticed a measurable increase in fuel economy.
