Anyone with High Mileage on their XC60?
Hi all. I'm new here. I'm planning to test drive a 2013 XC60 T6 tomorrow. It currently has 58k miles on it. I would plan to own it for a long time and I put about 20k miles on per year so I am curious about long term reliability. Anyone have higher mileage on the XC60 or knowledge of long term reliability? Any specific issues I should look for? Thanks.

I have 93k miles on my 2015.5 XC60 & am waiting on delivery of a 2018 XC60. Previously had a 2008 XC90 & 2011 Ford Explorer & put between 75k-95k miles on all of them without problems. The only reason I ordered a new one is that I use the vehicle for business & like to drive a new car so I trade them at that mileage level which for me is about 3 years. I would not be concerned about high mileage on a 2013 XC60 as long as you have it carefully inspected by a professional before purchasing as you don't know how it was used or maintained.

I have about 61,000k on my Dec 2010 XC60 Volvo (petrol version). It's the best, most reliable car I've ever owned (previously owned Honda, Mazda, holden, Ford, Kia, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and test drove many Mercs before settling on Volvo). I'm not an apologist for Volvo!! I would say other than the reversing camera, which for some reason sometimes doesn't kick in (and the Satnav which is terrible but doesn't matter anymore because of Google maps) it is just a brilliant car and very reliable. If you want good fuel efficiency make sure you use ULP 95. 91 will work (despite what they say in the manual) but is probably not good for long life of the engine and occasionally at low levels of acceleration you may observe a faint pinging/knocking.

Thanks for your input. 61,000k is only about 38,000 miles. The vehicle I'm looking at has almost 59,000 miles on it already. And I would expect to drive it until maybe 200,000 miles. May I ask....what is ULP 95? The research I've done says the XC60 runs on regular gas (87 octane here in the US). Not sure how that equates to other parts of the world.

In Australia (where I live and was referencing in my answer) we have 3 main unleaded petrol fuels colloquially known as ULP91 (regular unleaded), ULP95 (Premium unleaded) and ULP98 (Ultra premium unleaded). If you want more technical details, please see the following Australian Government website:
Fuel Quality in Australia - Petrol Fuel Quality Standard
I defer to mt6127 in relation to comparison between USA and other non-Amercian fuel octane codes.... as I'm no expert. As with most things it would be really nice if there was an agreed global standard and naming convention, but I guess that is a "pipe-dream"..........................
