My 2016 xc60 recently has this problem with radio turning on for about 5 seconds turns off for 20 seconds and then comes back on repeatedly. I tried doing a system reset, disconnected the battery for an hour, locked and unlocked the doors 3 times as suggested by On Call support. None of these corrected the issue.


Anyone have a similar situation?

 

Oh yeah. Definitely had the same weird issue with my 2015 V60. I first noticed it one day while I was in the driveway working on something when I heard voices coming from the direction of the car. The windows were up and the car off with no keys in the vicinity. It was tuned to some sort of XM talk station and the voices would start and then stop. For the life of me I thought I was losing my "sh***" or I was being visited by and extraterrestrial being because I couldn't figure out where the voices were coming from. Both seemed equally likely at the moment. Finally when I was standing right next to the car it became clear that the sound originated from inside the vehicle. It happened off and on for a year or so then just stopped. Probably something else broke to offset it on my most unreliable car. All good now but I will pay more attention to Consumer Reports unreliability rating for Volvos next time I buy a car. I still love it though. It's a tank!

 

I have it at the Volvo shop to fix these issues.
