Installed 1.0 update which completed in about 30 minutes. According to the release notes only some slight adjustments to driving dynamics. Disappointing the Google system is so limited with apps… would be wonderful to have access to download the SiriusXM app with much more function and control than the built in SiriusXM.

 

I was able to update to 1.10 . It seems too sensitive on the lane assist. remote still not working on my android device.
i have a xc60 2022....i have some controls on steering wheel for sirius xm. right front steering wheel arrows. if that helps

 

I updated car software to 1.10, updated android app to 5.10.0; did a factory reset on the car and remote climate still doesn't work.

I can't believe that there has been no official word from Volvo regarding this, as there's clearly some confusion, i.e. :

• Is remote start a known problem?
• Does it work on XC60 Recharge only?
• Does if work for apple devices and not android devices?

Whatever the issue is, it's not isolated. It's affecting a LOT of people and they need to officially respond.

 

I agree. Beyond frustrating and additionally I still have to daily reset my screen.
From what I have read it works on Apple phones . Problem is Android only devices.

No sense of urgency from Volvo...from searching and reading conversations this has been going on for 8 months.

 

I've seen all of the professional reviews, and I'm amazed that this issue isn't discussed. From reading their reviews, you'd think the car is the embodiment of perfection.

No, I did a reset and it didn't work. Seems that there's no one able to get remote start to work (minus the recharge) on an android. no matter the app version, car version, or reset.

 

Remote start of 2022 XC60 (non recharge models) does NOT work on Android. This has been confirmed by Volvo customer support. They did not even tell me to "oh try doing this or that or this" - they straight up said it doesn't work at the moment and they are actively working on a update. So just wait and don't waste your time trying to reset/uninstall/re-pair etc if you are on Android.

After opening a ticket with Volvo support A WEEK AGO, they finally responded with the following.

So, it's official that the Volvo Cars app does not work on an Android device.

I do find it strange that the car was released when not fully functional, and not one dealer was able to tell anyone at the time of purchase that this functionality isn't available when the spec sheet gave the impression that it was not only available but working.

 

I took my 2022 XC60 to the dealership and for 4 hours they updated more software but no remote start still....they have no idea when the Android fix will happen ....

 

Said it before, will say it again. It is LAUGHABLE that this feature does not work with a Google powered car and an android phone.

Happy to say that I am surrending my car to Volvo next week. Done with this never ending BS. It's a shame, because it's a hell of a fun car to drive.

 

My22 xc60 b5 in the UK, remote starts after latest app update to 5.12 on the android app. Yay at last, still some work to be done, re journeys etc but it's start.

 

Mine now works in the US on v. 5.12.

I wish I was more excited tho. So much more that needs fixing, these little wins seem too little to late to spark any excitement...

 

What app update on the phone or in the car? Do both of you have an Android mobile device?

 

I have an android phone, update was on the play store today, the car is upto date too with a recent ota update

 

Thank you Jane for the update!! A miracle lol I just updated and my Samsung phone started the car....wow... I appreciate the update Jane...now a little sarcasm... wheww here in northeast Ohio where the freezing temps have moved on and we are getting 50-60+ temps... 😆...but grateful.....

 

My remote start now works in the USA after updating the Volvo Cars app to version 5.12.0. I did have to add a screen lock to my Android phone before the app would start the XC60. Now if only the infotainment screen would stop freezing when playing music I would be very happy.

 

Must be a phased roll-out of 5.12 - my Google Play Store still shows 5.11.0 (updated on 2/23/2022) as the latest version. Can't wait.

I took my car last week to get dealership updated and still every day I have to reset the infotainment screen at least 1x a day still have the service call on Sirius music.
At least I can start the car.
