The 1.7 update happened toward the end of October and was supposed to include the following
- Software version information is now available:
- Software version numbers will be shown in the center display. Release notes related to the current and upcoming software updates will be available in the center display and on the Volvo Cars Support website. Nobody Cares
- Adjusted sensitivity of Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) to reduce risk of activation in automatic car washes. But now it activates when I pull out of my garage too quickly
- Introducing SiriusXM satellite radio. Available as in-car application This would be great, however, since this update the car consistently has trouble making/maintaining a cellular connection so we can't use it.
- Fixed problem of Seat Belt Reminder notification in the driver display. I never had this problem
- Software update notifications will be available on the mobile app:
- Notifications for an update that has been downloaded and is ready to install, installation started/in progress and result of installation. Nobody Cares
- Tire pressure monitoring system will show a calibration message after the completion of this update. It was actually supposed to display the pressure of each tire, but it doesn't.
- I can't manage the climate control via the mobile app any more. Locking and unlocking work fine, but no climate control.
- The auto trip computer doesn't reset every 4 hours the way its supposed to. It resets, but it does so on its own schedule.
Today Volvo has announced the availability of 1.8, which should do the following:
- Improved detection of pedestrians and cyclists.
- Improved driver support functions Pilot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
- New Forward Collision Warning System malfunction symbol for the driver display.
- Drive Modes shown in the driver display are now available in Chinese.

There is too much functionality that is too reliant on having a cellular connection. I drove my B6 Inscription across country two weeks ago. It wasn't an enjoyable trip. This upgrade doesn't make me feel better about my drive back next month.

If you don't have the Google based system, you can't get the updates for it...
A 2018 cannot be updated OTA.
As a MY 2022 owner, you probably dodged a bullet...
Took delivery of our 2022 XC60 B6 this past Saturday. It came with Software version 1.8.1 .
Obviously we have driven the car only a few hundred miles, yet so far no issues to report, as it all seems to function well. I expect that Volvo will work out all the Software issues over time.... it may just take a while and the early adopter are paying the price.

Wonder if this happened because I had so many issues with 1.7. Fortunately, I have a service appointment on the 27th which I booked 2 months ago because of the problems I was having with 1.7. Now they can deal with 1.8 as well!
thanks,
Spent almost 2 weeks at the dealer but it finally got resolved. When I went to pick it up they said they had to wait to get the software from Sweden.
This was Volvo of Marietta in Georgia if you want to have your service manager give them a call.
