I find it insane that folks are more concerned with Apply Car Play or AA than with the actual function this vehicle is to perform.... getting you from point "A" to point "B" safely and efficiently.

For those who "must have" some infotainment App (or they will melt), and the Car you purchased does not have it...... Who is at fault here? Look in the mirror to get the answer. You should have waited until it was actually in the car or purchased a different vehicle. And don't blame the sales guy who "told you it was coming".... if you believed that, I have some valuable Florida swamp property to sell you.

I know all about this Infotainment crap first hand as I would love for my Porsche to have a better Infotainment system with AA built in. Yet I knew that it did not have a top infotainment system. So you don't see me on the Porsche forum crying everyday that it does not have some infotainment feature that I knew it did not have when I purchased the car, or hoped that it would in the future.

If you really want Apple Car Play, go buy a $150 wireless aftermarket unit that plugs into one of the USB ports and you will have it. They install in about 10 minutes - Plug & Play. No need to cry your eyes out anymore...... or maybe you just like to complain?

Volvo Thailand had release notes online for V2.2 :
  • Introduction of Apple CarPlay.
  • Video apps can now be used in the car when parked. Video apps will be available in Google Play Store at a later time.
  • Reduced rate of false “no entry” traffic sign alerts.
  • Improved compatibility with iPhone, including wireless charging.
  • Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.

Default Gas/electric Mileage

Got my 22 xc60 recharge extended almost 6w ago. I've put about 305 miles on it so far.

I mostly drive in hybrid, on occasion I put it in power or pure to play with those modes.

Haven't filled the gas yet, it's only used about 1/8 of a tank of gas in 305 miles. And that might be from me playing with power mode or being on highways. The car shows an average of 106 mpg.

I've probably charged it 10 times or so. The battery is 18-19 kWh, where I live electricity is about 26 cents per kWh. So that's roughly $5 for 30 miles. Premium gas is about $5.85/gallon in my ara, so not that far off. But with my local power company (ConEd in NY), I can switch to a time if use plan, so if I charged overnight that goes goes to like 3 cents per kWh.

So far pretty happy with the car...

Am I happy - NO
will I unload -YES

currently wife drives a Mazda CX5 NO PROBLEMS.

I currently drive a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo in the Rocky Mountains because XC60 is unreliable and unsafe. So a 22 year old American vehicle is better than a 8 month old Swedish piece of ****.

never again will I own a Volvo.

2022 XC60 B5 owner here. Got mine in December of 2021. I'm incredibly happy with mine, it has been a life changer for long Texas road trips. Here's why:
  • Setting up profiles so I can share with my partner has been great
  • Literally the most comfortable drive I've ever had. Nicer interior and options for the dollar than the BMW, Audi and Lexus equivalents I tried.
  • Google maps built into the main screen is incredible. The fact that it is linked to my profile and has all of my saved places etc is awesome.
  • Literally no other car on the market shows navigation in the gauge cluster. This changed my life. I can now comfortably have Spotify or Audible or Pocketcasts up on the main screen and still see the map in the gauge cluster where it's easier to glance at and keep eyes on the road
  • The heads up display showing your next directional turn and when as well as speed limit is incredible, very few other cars offer this
  • At this point I can use wired carplay if I want to but i don't because built in is way better and carplay feels like I'm going back in time to 2013
    • Also carplay doesn't send navigation to the gauge cluster or the heads up display which is unacceptable
  • Pretty good mileage that has somehow improved a bit over time. Since I bought it the same trip on the same highway nets me 36 MPG instead of 31.
  • Autopilot* ish is great on highways. Makes long trips like my 4.5 hour pilgrimage to my parents place much better.
  • The drive is zippy when you need it to be and relaxed when you want it to be. No issues whatsoever driving in crazy Texas traffic where you'll get passed going 90 MPH or merging onto the highway
  • 360 camera view is clutch for tight parking spots

That said, despite the fact that I love the car, there's been a few hiccups along the way I want to be transparent about

Issue 1: the 12v battery issues. Car just wouldn't start. After it was jumped it wouldn't keep a charge. Warning showed up in the gauge cluster
  • Used the little call for help thing in the car. Talked to a person. They scheduled a tow. Tow arrived in a couple hours (was at my house). They took the car to the dealer (I live in town about 15 minutes away from my local dealer). All of this was free of charge
  • Dealer did diagnostics. Found there was some sort of relay module issue. Fixed it free of charge and washed it. I was given a loaner. Took about 3 days to turn that around
Issue 2: "Shark fin" electronics issue. There was an issue where some models had a bad shark fin housing the electronics and thus water could get in. Woke up one day and my fob just didn't work. GPS and LTE still worked though.
  • Called my dealer, they acknowledged the issue.
  • Problem was the part was on back order from Sweden because many volvos had the same issue. Had to use the car with manual key (which sucks) before they could fix it.
  • Gave me a loaner a week later, took them 4 days to turn it around
  • Complimentary wash
  • No charge

Issue 3: I noticed that the BLIS (little blinkers telling you something is in your blind spot in the side mirrors) were acting up. They would not turn off after detecting someone.
  • Called them up, they acknowledge some sort of software bug that was patched would solve it.
  • Took it in, they shuttled me back home. Later that afternoon the shuttled me back and it was fixed.
  • Complimentary wash
  • No charge
SO, over all there's been some hiccups, mostly software here and there. LTE used to be spotty but isn't anymore. The rear auto brake is AGGRESSIVE and I turn it off every time i drive. There's an odd situation where sometimes backing up the brake pedal suddenly gets real hard and I have to put it in Park and then back into reverse to get the brake to act normally again. BUT...

It's been a wonderful experience over all, to a point where until other brands get to where Volvo is with the integration of apps, the quality of interior appointments and comfort, and the comfort of ride, and navigation integrated into the gauge cluster and heads up display, I will not even consider another brand of car. Period.

I'm glad for you that your experience has been great. Sounds like you have a great dealer with great service. The best part is you are only 15 minutes from dealer.

My dealer in Denver is a 1-1/2 hour drive away. They never fix anything and are always annoyed if you bring in a car. Typical appointment for oil change is 2 months out and you have to leave the car. Could you see yourself driving 3-4 hours round trip for all of the items you had fixed. You would have lost 5 or more workdays to fix items that should not fail.

finally found a fantastic dealer (Rickenbaugh) who took me in for service with a weeks notice and completed the service on time as promised. Traded in the 2022 for a 2023 but still to buggy for me. I don’t want to have a 3 hour round trip ride for incompetent service from purchasing dealer. Rickenbaugh on the other hand has been awesome.

will dump the 2023 and Never Ever set foot in a Volvo or Polestar dealership.

if you want a loaner from selling dealership you should just sit out front on the sidewalk waiting for the second coming of Christ. You would have better luck catching Christ than a loaner

Oof, yeah that's rough. I can say a theory I have is that quality of life for vehicle ownership is just as much related to the brand of vehicle as it is to your location and proximity to the dealer and if the dealer is good or not. No matter what brand you go with if the dealers are very far or not great to work with, inevitably it'll dig into the experience of owning the car.

The moment another brand figures out putting Navigation in the gauge cluster as well as heads up display and uses google built in, I suppose I'd think about looking around, but don't have a lot of incentive to do so currently.

This is my second Volvo xc60. I have a 2013 which remains a fantastic car and trouble free. I traded my 2015 s60 for 2022 xc60 last May. To be totally honest any/all issues have been related to the infotainment system and sometimes operator error. The ride is fantastic and I have put over 10k miles in the last year. The infotainment systems have been minor all related to software but it has clouded the confidence level a bit. If I had to do it all over again I would still purchase the model. I still believe that Volvo is a premium brand. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the xc60. Keep in mind that sites like these provide a much needed service to help people when problems arise and generally only show the bad side so it can warp your view. To the best of my knowledge no one has built a flawless automobile yet.

13,500 miles on a 2022 XC60 B6 Inscription, delivered in December of 2021. We are on Software V2.5 as the OTA updates have never been offered. We live in northern South Carolina, USA.

Other than the rear tire alignment being bad from the factory, causing the rear tires to wear out in 10K miles, we really have not had any significant issues and are happy with the vehicle. Volvo replaced the rear tires and did a 4 wheel alignment under warranty so no issues there. At the 10K mile service, they updated the software from V1.8 to V2.5 and that solved some issues of the auto braking when backing out of the garage being overly sensitive.

So, Yes, we are happy with our 2022 Volvo XC60.

To me it also depends on where you live. American but living in Qatar. We have a '13 and i love the car when it's not hot outside (6 mo of the year). We've been having lots of issues with what I think is vapor lock. (I have an active thread if you have suggestions) Of course it's 110* F outside. Also AC not made for really hot climates. Issues with t keeping up or not working at all. I'm not sure Volvo got necessarily better over the years. My 87 240 wagon, '89 240 sedan, even my '97 850 were Bricks compared to the newer model I've had. But then those were driven in Ohio and Kentucky.

To read the odometer all you have to do is press the O between the radio controls on the right side of the steering wheel although I agree it ought to show up without pressing anything. The car should be on of course.

I've been driving Volvos since 1978. My first was a 240 with the reliable B23F engine. Recently traded in my 2018 XC60 T6 for this mild hybrid. So far, disappointed. The 2018 was better built and had no problems. This 2022 only had 2700 miles on it and came with HK sound system, auto lights with ABL, AHB ventilated seats, heads up display, the new Google Infosystem and a few other bells and whistles not on the 2018. It does have a smoother ride than the 2018 and it sits higher by maybe 2 inches. After only driving about 1000 miles, it's been in the shop 4 times for software downloads and a few minor problems. Now has to go back in because of headlight problems. The LED lights are oriented toward the left instead of in front of the car and they light up the entire adjacent left lane with the main cone of light about 20 feet ahead of the car in the adjacent lane. The passenger side headlight light illuminates the right shoulder lane marker but not much beyond it and the Auto high beams turn on and off without any oncoming traffic. Also the heads up display will not adjust either up or down or rotate. Further, whenever I open the hood, it goes almost to a 90 degree position. The dealer called this the Mechanics Position and it's impossible to reach the top of it to pull it down unless you tie a rope or a bungy cord to the top inside so you can pull on it to reach the hood. You have to push it down from the side and kind of walk your way to front to close it. I have never had a car hood open so wide and I've been driving for 60+ years. The dealer says this is normal and nothing they can do about it. As far as the Google system goes, I much prefer the Sensus system. True it takes a little getting used to and it's a bit slower to boot up however there were more 'control' options than the Google system has. This is the worst Volvo I've owned with the possible exception of my 2003 XC90 that had the 6 cylinder engine that frequently stalled when making a quick turn. I traded that in for a 2005 V8 which was a totally different car which I've handed down to my daughter. On a scale of 1-5 I'd rate this 2022 XC60 B5 a 2.5 while I'd give the 2018 T6 4.5. Big difference between the two and I regret my decision to trade it in. I wonder if anyone else has had similar problems.

I also had many Volvos and was very happy with the cars...then I traded in my 2018 XC60 for a 2022 XC60 B6. What junk. Didn't start the possessed Google info system was crap and stranded me a few times .Software updates screwed me. When I asked Volvo to help me with my car like fix it I was ignored I just got to the point to where I had to take the hit and get rid of it as I needed the car to do basic things like start and stay running.
Maybe someday all the woke geniuses will wake up or evaporate and the car will go back to what it was. I believe it WAS the safest best car on the market. Now its junk!

So, I'm a little confused on how many folks seem to buy Volvos without test driving, investigating or researching what they are actually buying?
Is "due diligence" a thing of the past, and folks just rely on past performance? "Past performance is no guarantee of future results" or something like that.
If i'm going to drop $60K on anything, I research it "six ways from Sunday"! Maybe I just don't have much money to throw around......

If you read the reviews on this forum starting in the fall of 2021, you would have seen lots of these issues, mainly regarding Volvo's new Google based infotainment system. Add the fact that Volvo is recently acquired by Geely (Chinese), and will be forced to buy from new Chinese suppliers learning the auto industry, thus will probably have more initial quality ****les than long-term suppliers. That in itself gave me pause to not buy a XC60..... initially.
I had to research further and see what the quality weak spots were and the opportunities for Volvo to Correct/Fix/Update, before I made a purchase decision.

I don't wish problems on anyone, just hoped that more folks would investigate what they are buying before the purchase, versus bitching about what they have after the purchase.

all you got to do is press the 0 button on the right side of the steering wheel between the radio controls. Milage is displayed along with trip info.
