Default Clicking noise from left front (driver side) wheel area

I have a 2014 XC60 with a clicking noise coming from the front driver side wheel. 60,000 miles.

I took this to the Volvo dealer. There, they told me that the left CV axle inner joint is worn and may cause noise when turning or accelerating.

The solution was a CV Half Shaft replacement. This cost $908 US.

I'm amazed that a 2014 model is already shot when I've sold 2001 models with the original axles. Oh well, nothing lasts forever.

The job is not that bad to do yourself. Here's an idea of what they cost on the aftermarket.

My 2010 needed a motor mount about 60,000 miles. I waited until I could hear it and then got both replaced. Yeah. I terms of wear and tear those parts seems to go out faster than on other cars. My indy mechanic seems to think it's the weight of the Volvo.

Since replacing the axle, there's a new noise up front on the driver's side. It's kinda like clicking, but not all the time. Also, it's not the same as the axle problem.

Could it be the brakes?

Anyway, I'm hoping to put it off until *after* I change the transmission fluid.

Turns out, the other axle was also bad. I just had it replaced.

Most of the noise is gone now. However, something is *still* occasionally clicking.

what brand did you use for the replacement axles? many after market axles are rebuilds so not the same quality as genuine volvo parts.

The Volvo dealer did the work. I ***-ume that they used genuine parts.
