Default Cutting the Alarm chime in DIM

Hi everyone, i was wondering if i got the right buzzer to shut off the sound from inside the DIM for all the irritating warning chimes... they are too loud! At the back of the DIM, after taking out the white plastic cover... there is a module like a small speaker on the circuitboard. Would it hurt if i cut out the chimer/buzzer/speaker? Will it cause any issue besides not hearing any chimes forever after?
