Default Harmon Kardon Static

I have ‘22 Inscripton with the HK system. I suddenly have almost constant robotic distortion/static on calls, SXM Radio and Spotify. It’s so bad the sound is impossible to listen to. Anyone else have this issue? Could it be a speaker problem, or part of the Google software disaster?

if there's no static when you listen to FM or a CD, then its not the speakers or power amp. Could be software or the XM radio antenna or antenna amp. Sounds like you need a trip to the dealer to have them check the software version and if there's any available updates. After that they'd have to do some diagnostics on the electronics.

Hi, i've a C40 recharge and i have the same problem... Spotify, youtube music, Tidal, radio, phone calls, car sounds (park sensors)... sometimes i ear distortions or "cracks" and sometimes i ear no sound, volume change to max and zero sound goes out.

Thanks

Default Static in HK audio system

Just started noticing static like good old AM radio during a thunderstorm on my 2022 HK system. Seems to happen after the unit has been playing audio from any source for at least 30 minutes. You mentioned turning the volume to 100% and back down to zero, but I wasn't sure if you meant the static cleared up or the audio stopped working altogether. Can you clarify? Thanks

Nothing I did worked, but like all the bugs so far it resolved itself. Have you tried updating the system software?

I have it set for automatic software download and when I check manually, it says it's up to date. Version 1.8.1. I see up to version 2.0 in the release notes, so I don't know what to make of that.

2022 XC60 with Harmon Kardon here. Few days ago a static interruptions started happening for all speakers. Doesn’t matter if I’m listening to Spotify, Radio or talking on the phone. Have all the latest updates installed. I guess the only option is to take it to the dealer. Do you really think it’s a software issue or the speaker system needs replacing?
