New Owner! 2015.5 XC60 T6 AWD
Hi All,
New owner (well, leasee) here. After looking at many different options (Q5, GLK, Toureg, Explorer, Grand Cherokee, Lexus NX), I plumped for the XC60 and picked it up yesterday. I know there's a few in that list that are in a different vehicle class, but I was actually looking for something bigger as we have a very active lifestyle and a dog so it needs to deal with mountain bikes, ski gear, camping gear and all the dogs stuff too.
Unfortunately the new Discovery Sport is only coming with rough, slow engines, and the XC90 is just too far away to be an option. I saw one in real life and it is a game changer - first Volvo that I have WANTED since the Touring car series 850 Estates of the 90s!). Cant wait to get in to a T8.
Spec List:
2015.5 XC60 T6 AWD Platinum
Crystal White Pearl (not my first choice, but dealer order cars tend to be boring like that)
Black interior (wanted brown or at least the blonde black but, alas, ditto....)
BLIS
Tech Package
Heated Front Seats
Walnut inlay (genius choice, should have been matched with brown leather!)
Some other little bits and bobs I have forgotten.
I would have liked sports seats (no brainer $500 option, right? Again, un-inspired and lazy ordering if you ask me, the 300hp T6 should just always have that ticked). The R seats are great, the standard ones torso bolster is good, but the seat is too flat.
Wish I had known the that Polestar tune was an option as the R Design was just a ridiculous lease price, and I wasn't fussed about the body kit really. My lease payments would have changed marginally for the residual value of the tune up. No way am I paying $1,600 for 25hp/30 Torques!
Wish list/ To Do:
Dealer fitted the front plate holder before I realized it

, and now I have 2 ugly holes where I would have had a pristine and attractive looking car. It's a California car, so it is a legal requirement but that's my risk. A bit miffed as it's really irked me on an otherwise pleasant buying experience.
IPD Rear Sway Bar - The Q5 just hammers the '60 for cornering composure so I want to nip in the handling. I hear the IPD is a revelation.
Anyone in USA do a front strut brace?
Brakes - These are pathetic...again the audi kills it (70 - zero in Q5 is about 120ft - it is 180ft in the XC) So looking at stoptech for either a fast road disc and pads setup or might just do the pads to start with. Again, would be great to get some suggestions!
Tow Hitch (not OEM)
Bike rack (not OEM)
Elegant phone holder with integrated charging solution for HTC -(Proclips seems to be one option with a great clip that would put the phone in the area to the right of the nav screen that is just plastic... open to any other suggestions!)
Hardwire dash cam, considering rear view cam.
Subwoofer - the standard set up is OK but not great. Harmon Kardon could have done better here. I am investigating options - but it seems very involved if I want to keep stowage space, so this may not happen and I will live with it.
Anyway, I am a short time lurker and so far see you all to be a very friendly, helpful and ACTIVE bunch - looking forward to being active in the forums!
Cheers
