Just bought a new xc60 2013 AWD option model. When starting the car and shifting into gear I feel the gas pedal grind a little when pressed down. It's like the shifting into gear for the first time is catching or the emergency brake is catching or something. It happens whether the emergency brake is on or not and also whether starting to move forward or back. It only happens when starting the car and it doesn't happen when moving from a stop light or anything. I can't recall if it happens when my foot is on the brake but it might. Does anyone else have this problem or know what might be the cause. Car has only about 500 miles on it. Thanks.

 

You feel the accelerator pedal grind?

The pedal is electronic, there is no mechanical connection to the engine. So really, the only thing it can be is a bad pedal, though I have yet to see that. Have you taken it in for this?
