Default Noisy cabin inside 2011 XC60 R-design. Is this common?

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2011 XC60 R-design with 55k miles, and after driving it for a bit I'm becoming increasingly aware of how noisy the cabin in. Both the ambient driving noise, and the squeaking/rattling from various interior parts when the car is going fast or just on a rough road.

The noise is loud enough that it's quite bothersome - particularly the rattling. It seems like there's quite a bit coming from the back seats. If the previous owner slammed them into the locks when putting them back up, that might help explain it. But it seems like that's not the only source of rattling noises in the car.

I'm wondering, has anyone else notices similar things with their XC60? Particularly R-designs? Is there any way to fix this?

My previous car was a bmw sedan with 140k miles on it. I've driven it over some pretty bad roads at high speeds, and it's been involved in an accident once - but I've never heard any rattling noises inside the cabin. It could just be that SUVs are more prone to this kind of thing - I've never had one until now. Any input would be appreciated.
