Hi everyone. I was looking for a 4wd or awd to pull a heavy trailer on farm tracks occasionally, escort the dog sometimes and then be a good shopping trolley. I have come across a late 2011 XC60 2.4 (215bhp) SE with a few options. Looked around it, drove it and liked it. No obvious problems; leaks noises or smells. it's done 220,000 miles! Owned by a company (1 owner) with fsh including new belt and clutch 9,000 mile ago. They used the same Dealer from day 1.

My question is: How much longer is this engine/transmission likely to go if treated well? I am capable of replacing the power plant - I have a hoist etc - but I'm not sure how much/often these engines cost/turn up. Any wisdom from owners that know this engine would be appreciated before I take the plunge. I'd like to get 4 years and about 40k more miles out of it.
