Default Outside temp sensor

This seems to be a common issue but I could not find a relevant thread here or a fix on google.

2012 XC60. 3.2.

Outside temp reads too high. I've heard there is a fault with the outside temp sensors. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks!

So after searching on-line I found that outside temp sensors can be a problem with almost all cars.

So I tested it!

The sensor is indeed located under the driver's side mirror and you can feel the little bump. After getting in my car and looking at the reported temp, I put my hand underneath it and even rubbed it a little and the temperature actually changed (almost) immediately to a lower tempurature!

The reading was still off, but at least I knew it was working and verified where it was located.

I do believe it does read the pavement temperature and this is what causes a reading that is higher than the ambient air.
