Problem with electronics?
Hi,
I have just joined the Forum.
I drive a Volvo XC 60 D5 AWD geartronic, bought brand new in February 2013.
It is my first Volvo after almost 20 years with Audis.
I have already travelled 145.000 kms and in general I had faced no problems so far except a sooth filter malfunction which was due to bad quality diesel.
On Saturday while driving on a highway at about 90 kms/hr I saw several warning indications flashing one after the other such as:
brake problem, Immobilizer malfunction, airbag problem, DCST problem.
I was shocked and alarmed and stopped immediately at the right side of the road and switched off the engine.
After that the engine was not turning on again, the boot door was blocked and cannot be opened and the indication break problem remained lit on the control panel.
I have called road assistance and carried the car to my Volvo authorized dealer.
We have taken out the pole of the battery for 5 minutes in order to try to reset but it did not work.
Now the car is at an authorized Volvo dealer who told me he will give me feedback tomorrow after he will check all possible reasons and potential software bugs Till now he has not observed any mechanical problem.
Does anyone have a similar experience?
That incident has created a lot of question marks to me about the credibility of Volvo.
I am flirting with the new Volvo XC60, but after my experience I am reluctant since it has much more electronic functions and might be much more complicated..
