Default Problems after having steering rack replaced - vida help

So we had the steering rack replaced and no codes previous to that and after work was completed and we got the vehicle back we had a bunch of lights dstc inactive etc. I figured maybe steering angle sensor was an issue from the codes I pulled in Vida but that hasn't helped me out as I cannot calibrate the sensor without errors. I'll attach images with information if someone could be so kind as to help a guy out. The original sensor had the same failure while trying to calibrate it as well. Could this be as simple as a plug that wasn't reconnected securely? Or another calibration process I am unaware of? I am using a VxDiag VXC SE as my interface

I would think - if you paid a shop to sell you and rack and install it (I trust it had a problem that necessitated replacement) - that giving you the car back in the same no fault condition it arrived in would be part of the job. That's what I would expect both as a shop owner and as a customer.

I would guess the rack was not centered properly - but since the steering angle sensor and the steering wheel can only be (properly) installed in one position - that leaves some questions to be answered.

Thanks for the information..... You really think I'm going to have vida and not be smart enough to understand the common sense thought process you shared? It wasn't helpful at all honestly, yes I'm in a pickle because of someone's crappy work. Why try to lecture me on it though?

To me common sense would be to take it back and have them finish the job. Hopefully they are capable of that. If not and you were charged reasonably for a complete job - perhaps take it up with the shop first and then your credit card company. Sorry if I've not been helpful.

I have attempted to get them to fix the problem, thats not an option...... so this is where I'm at. No it was not helpful at all and common sense would have told you that. Its always fun being the new user and meeting new freinds on forums.

Perhaps the tie rods are not the same length and that is preventing your calibration - and I trust you have seen the page showing how to calibrate without using VIDA. Or the steering rack was not exactly centered along with the steering wheel when the the steering column u joint was connected to the rack.

I did try the simple calibration method without success that's why I used vida. I have a vcx se from vxdiag I used I have a aezflasher 3 also just haven't tried it yet as it's been loaned out. The tie rods will get checked as I haven't came across that info, thank you.

So the steering wheel indeed was 360° off from center after fixing that calibration was indeed successful. Luckily I could hit the u-joint at the pedals and not have to get under the car. That said I haven't adjust these tie rods yet which are obviously way over the allowed 2mm allowance. I was curious to see if it would calibrate before correcting the tie rods and it did.

Yes, it was completed with the boot twisted like that and given back to us....
