Default Volvo On Call - app problem + XC60

Are any of you experiencing issues with plugging your car into the volvo on call app? After entering the correct VIN, the app grinds endlessly and does not bring up any message. XC60 new, picked up a few days ago, phone is an iPhone 12pro with iOS15.

I am having the same problem on the 2022 XC60 B5. The Volvo app updated Tuesday and I haven’t tried it again since that update. I was thinking an incompatibility issue with iOS 15 before the official release last Monday and I hope the app update addresses it. If it still doesn’t work, I am going to reset the settings on the car to the defaults next.

Same problem here too. Noticed app updated too (different icon now). But still same no connect issue and running iPhone 7 with iOS 14.8. Volvo Customer wrote back with a procedure to restore everything:
1. Delete all profiles
2. Have all FOBs in car at the same time (and only for admin user profile)
3. Create new profile
4. Enable Data Sharing in Privacy
5. Begin pairing with phone using Profiles>Connected Vehicles>Volvo On Call Devices>Pair Phone
6. Go to smartphone Open Volvo On Call App . If you paired phone before > Profile> Connected Vehicles> Add another Vehicle >Follow prompts

I just got this procedure and have not tried it yet.

Just no tried this procedure. Could not get past Settings>Profiles> "scroll to bottom" > Delete this Profile. No such command as "Delete this profile".

Also, on your image of the app, Volvo On-Call button person said, "There should be 5 icons at bottom". Mine only shows 3- similar to another thread on this topic.

Back to Volvo Customer Care.

Same problem with my three day old car.

Dealer called into higher up and was told that it is an issue with iOS 12+ (seems ridiculous) and that there should be an update in a month. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think if you start a third thread with the exact same question all will be good...LOL There are a number of typical trouble shooting ideas. First, restart your iPhone, 2nd delete the Volvo app and reinstall. Make sure your Volvo is on the same network...Just another data point, I have an iPhone 12 running ios15 and no issues

i didn’t need to reset settings. After trying multiple times over the last 2 weeks, this time it took my VIN and went to the next screen.

the only differences this time is the release candidate for iOS 15 (versus beta with earlier tries) was installed and the Volvo Cars app updated twice this week ending with version 5.4.3.

Good luck to the others trying.

With my Android phone, a call to Volvo was necessary to correctly link OnCall to the phone app. I was following the instructions exactly, but it didn't link. After the call to customer support, all is well, concerning the app. The support rep sent a confirmation code to my primary account email for my phone, for me to enter in the App.

BTW - I have the 2022 XC60 T8, which is the Google Assistant System. Volvo Care now says Procedure to delete profile won’t work because I am trying to delete the Admin profile (me). But, no instructions to delete admin. I think it will take resetting to Factory Default. Will try that next.

Default Rolled back version

Earlier I posted here that all of the App was working with my 2021 Momentum T5. I was mistaken. The remote start didn't start my car. But, after rolling back to the Android App's previous version, my car did remote start.

I had the same issue with my 2021 Momentum T6 when the new version of the app came out. I called Volvo On Call and found out that under App Settings, the Screen Lock function must be ON otherwise the remote start function will not work. Why they made this a requirement I don't know but it seems silly to me. If I have made the choice to not require the Screen Lock then the Start function should still work, after all it was my choice. Otherwise why even have the choice to turn Screen Lock OFF if the Remote Start won't work? I'm guessing the majority of owners use the App to use the remote start...maybe I'm wrong.

My car will not connect to the Volvo app. It did when I was at the dealer but never again.
