Him I have a XC60 '10 (D5 2.4 Drive) and lately its been giving me some bad headaches.

When I try to start the engine it just keeps cranking but it wont start, so I did a Vida scan on the car and I got an error code regarding the trunk. I cant remember the code but it was something saying the signal was weak or something. The trunk is automatic ( it opens and closes on its own) so after a while I tied basing really hard on my trunk when closed and sure enough the engine started.

This thing ahappend to me just recently today and I tied bashing in my trunk and the car automatically started up.

So the thing I need help with is what is wrong with my trunk, and is there a certain spare part i should go out and buy to replace it with? because it seem to both open and close firmly but for some reasion the bashing on the trunk ( or pushing really hard on it) helps.

I kinda need to get this done as Im soon going to travel abroad.

 

Does the light in the trunk turn off when you close it with normal force? It could be a problem with the latch where the tailgate meets the body.
