I'm not new to the Volvo scene, but this is my first post in the XC70 area..I just purchased a 2000 XC70 which is my 4th Volvo. So far, my only complaint is that it was missing the original keyless entry remotes when I got it. I've tried to research this on my own, but have gotten such mixed messages that I decided to go ahead and ask here (at the risk of being ridiculed as I have in the past lol). If I were to purchase a used remote, can I program it myself? I have read that I can and that I cant on several different Volvo sites, Google, random searches etc. The most common thing I have seen is that the 1998 cannot be programmed without a 4 digit code, but the 1999-2000 can. Also if anybody knows which remote I need (four button, 5 button, etc) for a 2000 XC70 I would appreciate it..a part number would be FANTASTIC. I have come across 4 different part numbers that claim to be for my car and I know that if I get the wrong one, even if it may look like the right one, it wont work.

Hopefully I do not upset anyone by asking this question here..in the past when I've asked questions that others think are foolish, I get a lot of snide remarks. Any help would really be appreciated!!
