2006 xc70 engine whistle.....
Hi, I have a 2006 XC70 that I just picked up from getting a new (used with 24,000 miles) engine. At about 60,000 miles my engine failed, random, no issues previously. When my engine failed, I heard a loud whistle in the engine, but never before. Like a loud, exaggerated turbo whistle or whine. So I had the new engine installed and now, I hear a quieter version of that same whistle or whine as I am accelerating. It's not super loud, it's just annoying. If I am in neural and revving engine, I don't hear, just when I am in drive. Even at 5 mph. Is this normal, should I be concerned? The mechanic said it seems like normal turbo noise, but it wasn't there before. Please help. I checked the steering boot by my petals and that seal is intact. Before I go to the dealer, I'd like to have some time to research any possible issues.
