98 xc70 fuel injectors?

I was stupid and ran out of gas about a month ago. The car did ok for the next few days, but then began to miss. The miss got gradually worse - mostly going up hills or from a stopped position. I changed the fuel filter last week and tried the car. It was fine. The next day I drove the car 20 miles to work and back... No problems. Now it will barely start. Any ideas?

I have only owned the car about six months and have no idea when the last one was done. I'll go ahead and do one and see if that helps.

Look on the ignition wires and see if the date is stamped on them.

maybe a faulty fuel pump?
