The a/c on my 99 V70 XC works great on the highway--and blows ice cold. When you are in "city traffic", the a/c begins blowing warmer air after a bit. I took it to a local place to have the freon topped off, and the mechanic said that the compressor is "freezing up", and quoted a $1200 repair. This doesn't make sense to me, as it works fine on the highway...never a problem. Any ideas from you would be great! Thanks!!!

 

My bet is the compressor needs to be reshimmed.
