1998 XC air conditioning works great for about 30 minutes and then kicks out. Turn it off for 10 minutes and it will work for another 30 minutes. Refrigerant level is good. What is it most likely to be? Could compressor clutch be bad? What would the fix be like for a very good shade tree mechanic who has never tackled this car?

 

My bet is the compressor clutch needs to be reshimmed.
