Hi, I have a 1998 V70 XC with a Bad B5254T engine in it. I want to replace it with a B5234T4 Engine that I already have. Does anyone know if this will work ok ???Will welcome any advice..Thanks,Jeff

It really shouldn't matter.
You are just installing the motor.
The motor isn't out of a 1999 or newer is it?

 

Might be out of a 99'...Any problems with that ?

 

Does it have VVT? (Varible Valve Timing)

 

Where would it tell you that... On the engine code tag or ???

 

If you look at the Cam pulleys one will look really fat and the other will look skinny.

Also if it has VVT there will be a valve that screws to the top of the cam cover.

The timing cover will also look different.
