Default Cylinder Missing

The other night I was driving my new to me '01 XC70 and it dropped a cylinder. It was all the sudden, no sputter, just lost a cylinder. I've only had the car a week, no warranty, and haven't really had a chance to become familiar with it. My first thought is either ignition or electric signal to an injector. I'm not sure how to test for either of these. Suggestions?

I bought an OBDII scanner and it reads "Cylinder 4 misfire". I knew I had a misfire, but now I know which one. Is there any way to test the coil for spark?

Swap a pair and see if the code follows the suspected bad one.
