Default Dead CEM. any ideas?

So here's my problem.MY friends 2001 v70xc has numerous electrical problems. No power at driver info module when key is turned on,no power windows or lock controls.the engine cranks but won't start.we reset all body control modules. It appears the Central Electronics Module is not powered up.I was told that by turning on the hazard lights and operating a rear window with a rear door switch the window should work indicating power at the CEM ,it does not work.ckecked ignition switch and it is good.checked for power at CEM pin A5 No power.Any idea's??

If fuses are good, and you have access to a wiring diagram, I would check all connections and then start tracing the power flow along the various wires. You should find your porblem.

Good luck!

Just an update if anyone should ever have the same problem. It turns out the CEM does have power,All my problems are due to a damaged CEM,I first thought the low speed bus was dragging it down but now it looks like the CEM is no good( bad solder joints ? )Anyhow off to the dealer.thanks for all you suggestions.
