fuel pressure regulator HELP Soon please!!!! 99xc70
After several people telling me I have a bad fuel pressure regulator I have gone through the hassle of removing it and am about to buy a new one.
Basically I am getting 61 psi at the fuel rail and zero residual pressure on shut down. Everyone tells me that it is supposed to be 45 psi (including the dealership), but the regulator says 3.8 bars which translates to 55 psi. I have replaced the etm, mas, and engine coolant sensor.
Symptoms are long cranking startups, ramping idle when cold from 800 to 1500 rpm and the car falling on its face until it reaches normal operating temperature.
There is a solenoid that won't allow the vacuum to open to the fuel tank area, where the FPR is located and I'm not so sure it is even a factor when it comes to the right pressure being needed in the first place. What triggers the ecu to activate this, I am not sure, but I just would like some verification before I go to the expense or trouble to replace it.
I have the FPR out and it holds vacuum and doesn't leak.
This has been a month of hassle to get to this point, and I am still not sure about the remedy.
I am getting p0121, p1238, and p1171 codes.
