full lock power steering slow return??
So the steering in my 2002 v70xc (new car to me) is not ideal. When I have the wheel turned full, or almost full, lock in either direction the wheel want's to stay there. I have to forcefully (not that hard, but odd) move the wheel back towards center and as it gets close it returns on its own as all cars do when moving forward. This seems strange for a power steering vehicle and makes me wonder if a) the pump has an issue or b) the steering linkage is binding somewhere. The fluid level is normal and there are no leaks. The car seems slightly out of alignment (pulls to right a tad), which I need to get fixed, but then again maybe the steering issue is causing that or visa versa??
I examined all the steering end bushings etc. and they look normally worn, but nothing terrible. Do any of those parts have grease nipples for internal lubing or are they the "replace only" sealed type?
I'd appreciate any feedback if anyone has experienced a similar problem.
thanks
